Arnold Local History Group
We aim to encourage and support an interest in the history of the Arnold area, including Daybrook, Red Hill & Woodthorpe. The group conserves and archives material of local interest.
We organise local exhibitions. Our 2022 exhibition at Arnold Library was themed on the changing face of Front Street throughout the years. In 2023 a heritage event also held in the library was a great success.
The next exhibition will be in November 2024 Arnold within Living Memory
We host an annual series of lectures on topics of local historical interest, attracting eminent speakers to our groups meetings. Group members also give presentations to local groups by invitation. For a list of current meetings and venue details, click the drop down menu above. All are welcome.
Whilst we are not a geneology group, many of our members have extensive knowledge of local family histories and may be able to assist - please contact via the E Mail address found below.

I was born and brought up on Saville Road. Our house plot was believed to have been on the site of Arnot Hill House stables and kennels as my Dad was always digging up bones in the back garden.
Sandra, we contacted Bonington House about the trophy you refer to but unfortunately have been unable to locate it, if you could provide more information, we may be able to look into it further. Lynne
